"Fasching" or carnival found us on the slopes of St. Anton in Austria, an almost four hour drive from our home. It was nice. We rented a flat that was close to the lift and we were set to go.
Both Victoria and Mark took three day lessons. Victoria learned to parallel ski, and is now zooming down the slopes. She even made it down a really steep black diamond run, which was one day was her only option to come down the hill (due to weather all other routes were closed).
Mark had a blast learning deep powder skiing. With his instructor's guidance and the required avalanche receiver they spent two days in the back country learning to ski in thigh high powder. Needless to say he was jazzed. We had five days of sunshine, and two days of cloudy weather.
